Chocolate Anyone?

Easter was a wave of excitement at our house this year. Ella has decided that Easter is the spring version of Christmas. She went to visit the Easter bunny at the mall and proudly told him everything that she wanted him to bring her. Fortunately for her (and unfortunately for us), the Easter bunny that visits our house is a softy and happily delivered the asked for goods. She was excited! Especially for her fairy and new Easter dress. She was so excited to get all dressed up and go to Sunbeams.

We also tried to teach her about the true meaning of Easter this year. Which, as you can imagine, is a little hard for a three year old to grasp. The birth of Jesus is much easier. I was able to find only a couple of books that talked about the story of Easter and they were even more in depth than she can understand. If anyone has found any great children's versions of this, let me know! But she'll get there. In Primary, they showed a picture of Jesus praying in the Garden of Gethsemane as part of their Easter sharing time. When they asked the children why Jesus looked sad, Ella raised her hand and said that it was because "he was just scared of the dark." Like I said, she'll get there.

Here are a few pictures of our Easter egg coloring adventure on Saturday and of all of the excitement on Sunday. Today, we are all suffering from a chocolate hangover and I'll gladly give away all the chocolate we have left to anyone who doesn't think the Easter bunny brought them enough!
