Ella's New Room. . .Daddy Adventures. . .Princess Parties

Ella's New Room

The past couple of weeks I have been working on getting Ella's room decorated. It took FOREVER for her new furniture to arrive but it finally made it. Here are a few pictures of the almost finished product. I found a wonderful lady who is going to come in and paint some accents that match her bedspread on the wall so I'll post those when she finishes in August. Ella loves it! And wants to show everyone who comes to visit.

The beautiful quilt draping from the top was made by Great Grandma Miles.
The little wooden box to the left is an antique doll trunk (circa 1870) that I found. It has the original paper and tray on the inside and it's in excellent condition.

The pictures on the wall and around Ella's room were taken by our dear friend and wonderful photographer, Camilynne! She is amazing and we are so grateful to have her capturing our family moments.

Daddy Adventures

It's been a couple of weeks since I have blogged about Scott's travels. He has been to Indianapolis, Salt Lake (for 4 days, yeah!), Atlanta and Minneapolis.

Ella learned that Indiana is in the middle of the United States, that they have a big car race there (Indy 500) and that they have a town there called Santa Claus where it always looks like Christmas.

Ella learned that Utah is called the Beehive State and this is where the pioneers came and settled.

Ella learned that they grow peaches in Georgia. They also have big old plantation homes.

Ella learned that Minnesota is where the Mississippi River begins and where there is a huge statue of Paul Bunyon with his blue ox, Babe.

Princess Party

Last week, Ella was invited to go to a birthday party for her friend, Aubrey. Aubrey lives in our neighborhood and is in Ella's sunbeam class. It was a princess theme and all of the girls got to dress up and meet Belle. Ella was so excited! She loves dressing up!

Nice work on the bedroom! I love how you have decorated it! Someday at least one of the rooms in my house will look this good :) I love the old doll chest too. Antiques are the greatest.

Becky! Hi - it's Sara Packham -- how are you?! What an adorable family you have. Ella is soooo cute! How fun to find your blog -- I linked over from Josh's cuz we found each other on facebook (you should join if you haven't already -- it's fun to find old friends).

Anyway-- I am so glad you have a blog and I can see what you've been up to. I have so many great memories growing up in Blackfoot w/ you. Fun times when you, me, and Chey would hang out! I email w/ her a little bit now and then and keep telling her she needs to get a blog too. :)

I'd love to hear back from ya!
