Self Portraits, Shoes and Fairy Wings

Ella has been at it again! Never a dull picture when she gets a hold of the camera. I thought I would start off the new year with my recent favorite Ella comment.

She came running in from school the other day to announce that there was a boy in her class who was in love with her and kissed her. My initial thought as to how to react - freak out! But then I remembered that freaking out over these types of things only makes them worse. And I hate to admit it but I was playing kiss tag in the first grade so . . .I reacted calmly and asked who this boy was. "His name is Zachary", she said. And then, motioning for me to bend down so she could whisper in my ear, she said, "and he's SMOKIN' HOT!" Yes, ladies and gentlemen, not just hot, but smokin' hot! Wow! Any takers for raising her through the teenage years. I think we are going to have our work cut out for us!

Oh Cade! How can you not love this face! One of the hazards of having an older sister is it's hard to avoid all of the "girly" stuff around. Cade has recently developed an infatuation with shoes. He is particularly partial to Ella's, I think because they fit a little better. But he will happily put on Scott and I's, too, if they are available. He loves my high heels and Ella's stylish grey boots.

Sweet little Cole, aka Tinkerbell wannabe! While Cade has taken to shoes, Cole has decided he loves Ella's fairy wings. He brought them into us the other night so we decided to put them on for him. He was in heaven! He kept spinning in circles and flinging them around. And was not a happy camper when we tried to take them off to go to bed.

So excited for another fun filled year with these kiddos!
