Today was the last day of school! Ella was so excited to go and do all of the fun last day activities. She got to clean out her pencil box and bring home the crayons and glue sticks. They got to watch a movie and the most exciting, she got to wear her autographed t-shirt! She had a corn dog for lunch. This is only significant because the first day of school she had a chicken sandwich and was convinced that she was going to have one everyday for the whole school year. While she did eat alot of chicken sandwiches this year, she did branch out and experiment a little bit! Ella has come so far this year! Her reading skills are amazing and she loves that she is able to read chapter books. She loves to write stories and draw pictures and has become an excellent speller. I think her greatest progress though has been in French. I still get a little emotional (and so does Scott, although he probably wouldn't admit it) when we hear her talking with her French teacher and the other students. It's truly amazing to see how much she knows and understands already. All of her math is in French and she scored a 100% on her final math test! There are times when I ask her a question that she just automatically responds in French and has to repeat her answer for me in English. We are blessed that she is able to take advantage of this program and look forward to the day we can take her on vacation to France and she can be our translator. We love you, Ella and are so proud of all you have accomplished this year!
