Grandma Miles Comes to Visit

We love it when Grandma comes to visit!  It was Spring Break for her and for the kids so the timing was perfect!  Unfortunately, she didn't get much of a break.  She arrived late Friday night and we had her up bright and early Saturday morning to head off to another dance competition.  Ella was so excited to have her there and for her to see her solo!
Shhhhh....These competitions can definitely get long.  Grandma passed the time correcting papers while Cooper passed the time sleeping.  Cooper and Ella have been dancing together since they were two.  Cooper's mom, Alisha, is Ella's dance instructor.  She said he used to fall asleep in front of the speakers!  Crazy!  Glad to see he has progressed to the wall under a table shelter.
Like I said, no breaks for Grandma.  I happened to mention that I didn't know what I wanted to do along my fence in the small section of dirt between it and our rock wall.  I am NOT a gardener at all.  I think sometimes I maybe could be but you just don't make a lot of progress with projects like this when there are two-year-olds at your feet.  So, mom happily volunteered to make a visit to the nursery to pick out some plants.  She and Ella gardened while I ran interference with the boys - which actually went better than I thought it would.  Cade thoroughly enjoyed digging in the dirt.  Cole, on the other hand - dirt? what dirt? Ella LOVED gardening!  She was so excited to put on her purple gloves and grandma showed her how to dig the holes and break the plants out of the containers.  She is so excited to get to water them and watch them grow!

The wall looked beautiful when it was all done.  Too bad someone forgot to take a picture of the finished product.  I'll add one later once it really starts to grow.  Cross your fingers that the cold freezes are gone for good!

I love projects with my grand kids. If that could be my fulltime paying job, I'd rather do that in a heartbeat. Nice job gardening buddies!
