Lunch with the Mayor

Two days ago, Ella came running through the front door after school.  I asked the typical, "How was school?" question - to which she replied, "I had the best day ever!"
She told me how her teacher, Mr. Keck, had called her into the hall to tell her she had been chosen from the third grade to have lunch with the Mayor.  For Ella, the Mayor is pretty much the closest person to the President so to say she was excited is an understatement!
The lunch was "fun" and the cookies were the best part.  They were made by the Mayor's wife.  She was a bit nervous to ride in the Assistant Principals car but that turned out ok, too. And her cheeks got a little red when she retold all of the nice things her teachers had said about her.  Way to go, Ella!
