Dance Trip

Ella, Scott and I ventured to St. George this weekend for Ella's dance competition.  We were all looking forward to a roadtrip and a few days away.  Scott, our trusty driver, started out strong but died out when we hit Lehi. Yes, Lehi!  So I took over the reigns while he snored and Ella played on her tablet.  Thank heavens for Ipods and awesome 80's tunes!
I promised Ella I would not drag my camera everywhere.  She gets so tired of pictures.  I did get her to let me take these few but I am eating my promise.  On Saturday morning, she came early to take part in a dance clinic with Alex Wong (So You Think You Can Dance).  He taught them a quick routine which they had to do in the dance off later in the day.  Ella was grouped with kids from ages 6 to 12.  When the dance off began, the stage was a sea of girls.  They ran through the routine several times while judges began to weed them out.  They made it down to 24 girls - one of which was Ella!  Sidenote: Scott was dead asleep with boredom until this part!  Then these 24 danced and they took it down to 12 girls - one of which was Ella!  Scott is wide awake now!  Then these 12 danced and they took it down to 6 girls - one of which was Ella!  Scott is now screaming and cheering!  They danced one last time for Mr. Wong - drum roll, please....Ella took 2nd place!  Perfect camera moment missed!!  Argh!  No more no camera promises for me!  She was so excited and we were SO PROUD of her!

After some time in the pool, we stopped at the St. George temple before heading back for home.
