Girls Scrapbook Weekend

It has been several years since the girls have ventured to the cabin for a scrapbook weekend.  Matter of fact, our last trip ended with the birth of little Camdyn.  So, we were super excited to finally get to have another one.  Little did we know of the adventures we were in for without the men there to help us out.
First up, getting into the cabin.  Spring always brings a lovely mix of melting snow that results in a super muddy entrance.  I was sure we were going to get stuck but we made it through and did our best to walk on any bit of snow that was on our path in and out of the cabin.
Once in, we thought we remembered how to work the fireplace but we didn't.  Some buttons go in, some go out and we can never remember which is which.  A couple of text/phone calls later, we had a fire.  Now for the water.  The kitchen faucet has been a bit loose for awhile and it was kind enough to choose this visit to finally go haywire.  As soon as we lifted the lever, water started leaking out all around it and we couldn't get it to stop.  Mom was confident that this was something we could tackle so we headed off to the Island Park hardware store to get a faucet.  On the way, dad called to let us know that this was definitely something we could not do and told us to find a plummer.  A few phone calls and a trip to the Elk Creek Mall (the place that has everything and knows everything) later and we had a plummer on the way. Whew! All is well now, right?
Nope!  As our wood pile began to dwindle, we went to the bully barn to collect some more.  But, much to our surprise, the bully barn key was not in it's spot.  A few more phone calls and some detective work later we discover that the last occupants of the cabin (who shall remain unnamed) did not put the key back and it's possibly locked inside the barn - they can't remember.  Awesome!  I tried to break a portion of the lock off but then realized I could just unscrew the one side of the lock from the door to get us in.  By this point, it was all laughable - almost!
So, now we have running, not leaking water, and wood - all of our scrapbook stuff - and yummy food (minus the burnt popcorn - good one, Mom!).  Let the fun begin!!
