Second Grade

Our sweet Ella Bella is a mighty, mighty second grader this year! Which, apparently means that she has nothing to worry about because "she's done all of this before and knows that she's doing." I love her second grade smile! Kids teeth at this age are so cute - missing some, some half way in, others all the way in with really big spaces in between.

We decided to hold our 1st day of school feast on Ella's first day since daddy was out of town on the boys' first day. Ella loves looking at all of the decorations and wearing her crown. The boys loved the giant crayons and even wore their crowns. Daddy made special pancakes, eggs and hashbrowns. Yummy in our tummies!

We all decided to walk Ella to the bus stop. Even though she is old enough to just go with her friends, one day she will be "too cool" for that, so we have to savor this time when she still wants us to tag along. She could not wait to see all of her friends and talk about their new teachers and where they were all going to sit on the bus. I kept asking her to look over at me and smile for a picture - to which she kept responding - "Mom!" Cade and Cole anxiously waved goodbye to her as she got on the bus. Cole kept saying "bus" and Cade kept saying "Where Ella go?" They are going to miss having her home so much! And so am I!

Ella had a great first day! She loves her new teachers, Mrs. Arnell for English and Mme. Hassell for French. She is on the Bears Team in her class and their color is Red. Her favorite part of the day is still playing with her friends and on the monkey bars at recess.

Cupcake cheers to the start of a new school year!

Boy, my first day of school wasn't nearly as fun as your family's. They look like they are having a blast! And I suspect Mom and Dad were too. Nothing more fun than seeing your kiddos loving the special celebrations you've created. You are recording such wonderful memories!
