Parent Teacher Conferences

It's that time of year - parent teacher conferences. At Bravo, they invite the parents to come and help with a stamp art project and then the kids participated in a singing program. The art project part was great. Cade and Cole really got into pushing their stamps on the ink pad and then onto their papers. I think the thing I was most impressed with is they chose to sit at different tables! This is a first for me to see. Usually they need to be right next to each other. This shows how comfortable they are at school. It's wonderful! After art, the kids were asked to come and sit in the circle to sing songs. Apparently Cade and Cole are usually really good at doing this but not when mom is there. I sat down with both of them crying in my lap for the entire time! One of the moms kind of giggled at me. She apologized for laughing but said she felt bad for me. Believe me, on days like those, I find myself feeling bad for me too. But despite that, the boys are doing so well at school. Cole was the first one to name all of his shapes and is always telling the teacher what color he is using. He somehow manages to get his snack on crazy places like his elbows - and does it often. Cade is learning his letters and colors and has an obsession with washing his hands. They love to play outside on the slide and have made new friends that they love to give high fives to. This has been such a growing experience for them and has helped them to be independent from me and from each other. Hooray for school!
