Glasses

A few weeks ago, we took Ella in for an eye appointment. She had been complaining about being able to see clearly at times. I hate to admit it but I kind of thought she just wanted glasses because she thought they were fun. Well, shame on me. It turns out she really does need them to read and for working on the computer. She was pretty excited to pick out the frames and it took awhile to narrow her favorites down. She finally decided on a brown and pink pair that have peace signs on the side. They were definitely a novelty item the first few days but it's amazing how quickly that wears off. Now they are just another thing that she has to wear.

Ella's parent teacher conferences were also this week. I look forward to going to them because I have the chance to see her show off what she is learning in French. It still makes me a little teary eyed when I listen to her carry on a conversation and follow directions. I am in awe at how quickly she has picked it up. I wish it was that easy when you are an adult! She is doing amazing in school! She is over a full grade level ahead in reading and math and is one of the top in her class for both English and French. She loves to read and was able to earn the most reading beads in her class this past month. Both of her teachers commented on how friendly and helpful she is. We are super proud of you, Ella!
