Turkey Day

We were lucky to have my whole family here to celebrate Thanksgiving with us this year.  Brittany and I tried to pay close attention so we could one day do one of these feasts on our own but when it came to the turkey, we both chickened out.  Steven got the not-so-coveted job and thought he would have some fun with it.  We tried to get him to put it on his head like Joey in Friends but no such luck.  

Ummm....ya, Cinderelly Josh was not happy when we told him he had to mix the cream cheese with a mixer and not just a spoon. :)

Scott and Josh were put in charge of the kiddos while we finished the last of the dinner preparations.

The big feast = all day to prepare and 20 minutes to gobble!  It was delicious!!

The aftermath.

This was the first year Mom and I experienced Black Friday shopping.  Holy nuts!!  I had heard stories but never believed it could be that bad. Ya, it is!  Target was our first stop and you could barely move.  The checkout line wrapped to the back of the store and I laughed hysterically when I heard women plotting their next moves and where they were going to meet up.  This is serious business and definitely an all night event for many.  Fortunately, after spending most of our time looking for jammies for ourselves :), the line had shrunk and we were able to leave with our great deals without too much of a wait.  And then there was Old Navy.  If we thought we could barely move in Target, we could not move at all in Old Navy.  We tried to be quick and get in line but after standing and waiting with no movement for 10 minutes, we decided the jammies and tshirts weren't cute enough to be up until 3am.  So, we called it quits.  It was super fun!  Now, if only the kids would have slept til noon!

We also did our annual trip to see the lights on Temple Square.

I love this photo!  If there's a picture being taken, Cade has to be in it, whether he belongs to that family or not.  Thanks Josh and Britt for adopting him.  We would be happy to have him come visit on weekends. :)

We were lucky that it wasn't super cold.  But we learned that it takes more than five adults to take care of six kids.  

It was so great to have everyone here and we can't wait to do it again at Christmas!
