Mom and Dad celebrated their 25th Anniversary on June 3. Since we were all going to be together in Island Park the following weekend, we decided it would be fun to throw them a little surprise party. It's not easy to keep surprises from them but we did it and it was so much fun! We had dinner at The Pines and took them on a trip down memory lane with a basket full of memorabilia from 1983.
We were able to have the top layer of their wedding cake recreated. It was so delicious!
The family! Grandma Miles was able to come and be with us too! And no, I am not growing antlers out of my head.
Ella and Teegan loved the balloons. They kept banging each other with them and then laughing hysterically!

Grandma gave mom and dad a beautiful plate that was given to her and Grandpa by Dean and Barbara Wiser, dear friends of mom and dad.

One of the gifts we did for them was to take all of their wedding pictures and make a scrapbook.

The other gift was a book of letters/cards that included memories and well wishes from their family and friends. It brought them both to tears. Thanks to everyone who shared with us!

Sidenote: Dad has not decided to start wearing a little bling! When 25th anniversaries were first celebrated, husbands would adorn their wives with silver garland so we decided to adorn them both with silver necklaces.
Mom and Dad, we hope you had a great time! We love you!

Becky you totally have antlersin that picture!! Hahaha...that's hysterical! We can't wait until you guys come to Seattle. Teegan especially needs more time with Ella, since last weekend was kind of rushed.
Teegan keeps seeing Ella in the family picture on the wall and asks for her...come soon! So I have 2 favors to ask, well things I need you to pack. First of all I think I left my sunglasses in the suburban. So if you find them would you mind bringing them? Also would you be willing to bring the cd with Seattle pics from last summer? If that's too much of a hassle and you can't find either, don't worry about it. Thank you. See ya soon!
Summer has arrived..I actually spent time on the internet and it wasn't work related! Yeah! Becky, thanks for putting the blog sites on our Favorites, it makes checking family blogs easy-peasy, as my first graders would say. (Don't ask what it means, though.)
I spent quite a while on your blog reading back over your entries and looking at pictures. Is there a way to go back to earlier entries? Since this is only the second time I've been here.
We loved the anniversary surprise party! it was so perfect. Thanks everyone for giving us this grat memory. Great pictures, too. I have some more scrapbooking to do. :) Love you all!
PS...Who invented blog comments without spell check? I'm toast!
