Big Boy Beds

I have been dreading this moment since the day these babes were born - big boy beds!  I love the safety and security that a crib provides.  I love knowing that when I put them in there, they will still be there when I return.  Cribs can be a mom's best friend when she needs a quick bathroom break, shower, or to give herself a timeout.  So, it goes without saying that once these two started scaling the bars, I gave a big sigh of disappointment.  Ready or not, time for another milestone transition.
Before they left on Sunday, I asked Josh if he would help me take off the front railings and replace them with the toddler rails.  I was not prepared for the emotion that I felt when he took the first rails off.  I got a little teary eyed when I realized that we were taking apart the last crib that we would ever have.  They really are growing so fast!  Once the beds were all transitioned, we let the boys come and check them out.  We made sure to make a really big deal about them being beds for "big boys" and how cool they were.  I was dreading nap and bed time though.  I was sure that I was going to be camped out of their room for hours putting them back into their beds when they crawled out.  To my wonderful amazement, I did not have to go in once!  They were so excited to be in them, they didn't want to get out!  Yahoo!  Cross your fingers and toes that it lasts!
